My Dodge did NOT pass the inspection. Reasons were:
- left upper ball joint have to be changed
- both tie rod ends have to be changed
- right brake at back is not taking enough
Not bad! Also there was strange thing that showed up. The pollution test, which I did at another place was not valid! Now the inspection guy said, that I have to make it again at THEIR place and pay 17€ for that or otherwise he will fail whole inspection right away. Ok. He took it, and it passed again. There were minor difference in oxygen level with this test compared to earlier. Still I wonder how this went like it went. I should have said him that he inspects the car otherwise and if it fail, why I should bother to take HIS pollution test. But it is too late now. As usual, you understand later, what you should have said. Anyway. Now I have one month to repair those problems. If I don´t my inspection fails and it have to start all over again.
After these things I went to my friends work place and we started to do rear end for Royal Enfield.
Upper tubes are now welded to axle plates and we can continue next friday. It takes long for this rear end to be completed, since this has to be done at my friends workplace, because there they have TIG. Bad thing is that we can use it only at fridays. Still few months to summer...
While my friend was welding, I finalized lower tube mountings, whose I started at home. Look the difference of thickness between old and new. Old are modified from original RE mountings. New are copies of modified originals!
Mounting place
Upper - old, lower -new
