My Youtube Channel

If You are interested of various kind of motor etc. projects, check this out. There will soon be lots of more content. Now there is videos mainly about my Royal Enfield Chopper, but videos about my VW bug & Dodge Ram Van + other machines are coming later. It just came to my mind, that I should do little introduction video from every machine I have. Yes. That I will do quite soon.

Present to Daughter

I forgot to put this here. I did this for my daughters 12 year birthday. There reads Louhi, which is her name. I cutted pieces from pipe, opened them and bend into shape. Square pipe was already rusted, but I sprayed salt water into text & leaved it out for a while, to get rust also into the text & to the base, because I had to weld the text into pipe. Later I read, that distilled water & salt would have been better. Idea was also, that out from rust, something great and shiny can rise up.

My Dodge did NOT pass the inspection. Reasons were:

- left upper ball joint have to be changed
- both tie rod ends have to be changed
- right brake at back is not taking enough

Not bad! Also there was strange thing that showed up. The pollution test, which I did at another place was not valid! Now the inspection guy said, that I have to make it again at THEIR place and pay 17€ for that or otherwise he will fail whole inspection right away. Ok. He took it, and it passed again. There were minor difference in oxygen level with this test compared to earlier. Still I wonder how this went like it went. I should have said him that he inspects the car otherwise and if it fail, why I should bother to take HIS pollution test. But it is too late now. As usual, you understand later, what you should have said. Anyway. Now I have one month to repair those problems. If I don´t my inspection fails and it have to start all over again.

After these things I went to my friends work place and we started to do rear end for Royal Enfield.

Upper tubes are now welded to axle plates and we can continue next friday. It takes long for this rear end to be completed, since this has to be done at my friends workplace, because there they have TIG. Bad thing is that we can use it only at fridays. Still few months to summer...

While my friend was welding, I finalized lower tube mountings, whose I started at home. Look the difference of thickness between old and new. Old are modified from original RE mountings. New are copies of modified originals!

Pollution tests passed! Great. Today I have the final inspection. Let´s hope that everything goes fine. There might be problems with brakes and rear shocks, but since I can´t test them properly, I´ll have to wait what inspection guy says.

Pollution test passed certification

Handbrake wires holder fixing begins at 07 a.m.

Handbrake wires holder fixed few hours later. I found one rotted hole from bottom and fixed that too.

Today I was supposed to go to pollution test again, but I got time for thursday. Thats fine. I did some motor cleaning & fixed some little things and I remembered that I haven´t tested if my handbrake works. I tested it and it didn´t work at all! First it looked that the wires are just loose, so I´ll just have to adjust them...

...but that was not so easy, of course. The nuts whose adjust the wires were stuck really hard

Had to give them Fire

Victory!

Great. I thought that I just clean the threads and put new nuts and thats it. NO. Wrong thought! I adjusted the wires and pushed the lever and it just gave up. I did that few times, until I noticed this

The whole wireholder was rotted out of frame! F**K!!!! Had to stop working, since it was gettin dark & cold. Tomorrow mornig I fix this and then go to pollution test. It is going to be busy morning. Hope that the brakes are otherwise fine and I get clean papers from pollution test ...If not, I am in Deep S***T. I do not have lots of time to fix anything big anymore, since inspection time is supposed to be at friday 9 a.m.

Yearly mandatory inspection of my Dodge Ram Van -90 is set to next friday. Have to fix few things. I bought this ½ years ago, so I don´t know what to expect.

Today I went to some garage and they did pollution inspection, with is also mandatory for cars starting from 1978. I did this beforehand, so that in the final inspection this are not going to made, if I have label that shows, that everything is ok. At this time Dodge did not pass the test. There was a leak at catalyzer (I hate those!) + air filter was clogged. Also distributor was quite dirty from inside, so I think that gas was not burning properly, therefore I got high readings on pollution test. I fixed those and I try again tomorrow.

Petrol tank was leaking from the hoses, where gasoline comes out from the tank. Had to remove the tank & take away "snap on" connectors.

I fitted the hoses directly to pipes and used "old style" hoseclamps. No more leaks there. Only pipe where you put gasoline in to tank leaks a bit. Have to fix that too.
